Wedding suits in South Africa: grooms and groomsmen

A wedding is the one day the suit gets photographed from every angle. A Turkish three-piece gives you the full look, jacket, waistcoat and trousers, in a slim modern cut, at a price that lets the whole wedding party match without anyone renting.

Choosing the colour

Royal blue and navy photograph beautifully against white and are the most requested groom colours in South Africa. Cream and light blue suit summer and outdoor venues. Bright red and mint are for the groom who wants to stand out, with groomsmen in a calmer shade. For a black-tie evening wedding, the tuxedo with satin lapels is the safe choice.

One rule saves a lot of stress: order every suit in the party from the same batch. Dye lots differ slightly between production runs, and it shows in photos. We reserve the colour and batch when you send your group order.

Groomsmen packages

Send us one WhatsApp message with the wedding date, colour, number of suits and each groomsman's size or measurements. We confirm stock, quote for the group, and ship every suit together or to separate addresses if your party is spread across the country. Groups of four or more qualify for group pricing; ask when you enquire.

The groom's suit can be a different colour or the same colour with a different waistcoat or tie so he stands out in the line-up.

Timing and alterations

Order at least three weeks before the wedding. Delivery takes 2–5 working days, and a local tailor needs a few days to hem trousers or take in a sleeve. Try every suit on as soon as it arrives so an exchange can be done within the 14-day window.

Questions we get asked

Can you match suits for the whole wedding party?
Yes. Send the number of suits and sizes on WhatsApp and we reserve the same colour and batch for everyone.
Is it cheaper to buy or rent wedding suits in South Africa?
Renting costs a large fraction of the price of a Turkish three-piece and you return it. Buying gives each groomsman a suit he keeps for church, work and the next wedding.
What should the groom wear that differs from the groomsmen?
Most grooms take the same suit in a deeper or lighter shade, or the same colour with a contrasting waistcoat, tie or pocket square.
How far in advance should I order a wedding suit?
Three weeks minimum. Earlier is better for large parties or sizes at the ends of the range.
